· Contribute to SFCN E-Newsletter (quarterly as of 2009) SFCN welcomes your articles and op eds on all issues relevant to the Somali refugees and immigrant community. We also want to hear from all the Somali community organizations in the United States on best practices and opportunities for newcomers. Please send your articles to staff@somalifamily.org and it will be featured in the quarterly newsletter. · Share Your Story SFCN is cognizant of the countless obstacles and barriers new immigrants face as they settle into their new host environment in the United States. Despite seemingly insurmountable linguistic, cultural and economic challenges, Somali refugees and immigrants have been successful in forging strong foundations in their chosen communities and building vibrant and productive enterprises. Young people continue to excel in myriad fields in academia, athletics, the arts and sciences. As such, this page is dedicated to the courageous and successful individuals who have achieved their dreams in their new homeland. We are interested in knowing how you overcame the challenges of resettlement and what paths you chose in realizing your goals. We want to hear your stories of success and the advice you have for future generations of young Somalis growing up on the United States and around the world. Please include photos, essays or anything else you wish to share with the Somali community.
